Jennifer Davidson Named Senior Vice President, Programming and Scheduling For Cartoon Network

Jennifer Davidson has been promoted to senior vice president of programming and scheduling, it was announced today by Stuart Snyder, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Turner Broadcasting’s Animation, Young Adults and Kids Media group. In her new role Davidson will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day scheduling and strategic positioning of all on-air content for Cartoon Network and Boomerang, as well as on-air promotion for Adult Swim. Her duties also will include overseeing the scheduling of each network’s long-range on-air promotional calendar, incorporating all on-air promotion strategies and placement.

Davidson was recently vice president of marketing, ad trade, consumer products trade and strategic operations for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim. She was responsible for overseeing all planning and execution of on-air and off-channel network brand strategies, including trade and consumer products advertising. Among her accomplishments, Davidson was part of the team that launched Adult Swim in Sept. 2001 as a separate entertainment service targeted for young adults.

“Jennifer has greatly contributed to the overall growth and development of Cartoon Network and will bring a wealth of knowledge and strategic thinking to her new position,” said Snyder. “She will play a major role as we expand our viewership and overall business going forward.”

An early member of the Cartoon Network team when the network was launched in 1993, Davidson has served in several other capacities throughout the years including, vice president and executive producer for on-air promotion and operations. In this role, Davidson executive produced all on-air promotions, stunts and specials. While there, she developed and implemented new on-air promotion planning processes, including a new production software system. Prior to this, Davidson served as Cartoon Network’s vice president, on-air promotion, production and operations (1998-2001), partnering with the network creative director to produce packaging, promotion, interstitials and multiple off-channel campaigns. In this capacity, she also executive produced the launch of the all-classic cartoon channel, Boomerang. She started her career at the network as production/operations assistant and operations coordinator/manger and was later director of on-air promotion operations/production.

Davidson has won several industry and marketing awards including a 2000 BDA Gold Award for total package design (Boomerang). She was also recently selected as a 2007-08 Betsy Magness Leadership Fellow. Prior to joining Cartoon Network, she served in a variety of on-air production roles at local television stations, including WTLK-TV in Atlanta, KSTP-TV in Minneapolis and Conus Communications, also in Minneapolis.

Davidson graduated from Virginia Tech with a bachelor of arts degree in broadcast communications.
