Anime Limited have today announced the licensing of Lucky Star and two of the Project Itoh films.
Lucky Star is a comedy anime focussing on the female otaku Konata Izumi and her school friends, making fun of life, fandom and the 4th wall. Anime Limited plan to release the show to Blu-ray this September and are hoping to add a special something to their release.
The Project Itoh movies are animated adaptations of the varied works of the late Japanese science fiction/fantasy writer Satoshi Itoh. Of this trilogy Anime Limited have licensed Empire of Corpses (directed by Ryotaro Makihara/Wit Studio) and Harmony (directed by Takashi Nakamura & Michael Arias/Studio 4°C). Both films have been licensed for Blu-ray and DVD though theatrical screenings are planned, to include the Anime Weekender at BFI Southbank this June. Both films are planned to screen Friday 3rd June, complete with a Q&A session with Harmony co-director Michael Arias. For more details including trailers for both films, see this post at Anime Limited’s news blog.
