I remember the TV ads for Honey I Shrunk The Kids. The most frequent clip you saw was Nick screaming "DON'T EAT ME! NOOOOOO!" which turned out to be the very climax of the film, so everybody who paid to see it was just waiting for Nick to fall into the Cheerios. Every ad had that scene.

That's the money shot for the entire film so it's no surprise it was in every ad.

Something I found over on the Lost Media Wiki. This is *really* cringeworthy, and I think my brain might've forgotten about these. Still, it's on YouTube!

Worst part is, this thing's 20 minutes...

The Old Timers episode of Family Double Dare. It's the staff giving the game a go. It's well wroth watching, and I hope it makes up for my first link. :)

On the subject of Lost Media, have I got a treat for you all.

You may know about the little infamous Boston Lite Brite scare of 07' where, in a promotional stunt for Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie Film for Theaters, LED boards in the shape of the Mooninites were hidden around major cities. Most of the cities were cool with it and no one said anything, but Boston went into an absolute lockdown when it was feared these devices were bombs (especially since it took several hours before anyone in Boston said "Oh hey, these look like the Mooninites from Aqua Teen").

For the premiere of the fifth season (which started the following year), the Aqua Teen writers created an episode to mock this event simply titled "Boston". The episode has never been aired or released, but was completed and is still considered part of the official episode count. Despite being asked about this episode, Adult Swim has firmly stood by their stance on the episode never seeing the light of day.

But now, seven years after it was supposed to air, the episode has been leaked online:

Funny thing is, the episode was uploaded over two months ago and only now are people starting to notice it. Also of notice is that this is a workprint copy, so a lot of the animation during the middle of the episode is even more limited than normal or almost non-existent. No idea if there's still a completed copy somewhere in the Turner archives or if this is as far as they got with this episode, but at least we can finally see it.

Three years before Julie Andrews starred in the movie adaptation of The Sound of Music, she and Carol Burnett decided to ridicule the schmaltzy qualities of the original Broadway version:

Reportedly, after Fox enlisted Andrews to star in the movie, she asked the director and/or the screenwriter to assure her that they found ways to tone down the schmaltz.

Well, now the Tiny Toons parody makes a lot more sense. It was based on the 1988 THX trailer "Cimmaron," but it turns out the sound in that trailer was remixed a couple years after release. It was mainly to remove the "PYOOOOOWWWWWWW" sound, which was reportedly SO LOUD that theater owners had their speakers blow out!

The "PYOOOWWWWWW" was specifically parodied in the Tiny Toons scene. I'd never heard it before -- only the rescore that's less harsh. This version has never been released by Lucasfilm but people have managed to reconstruct it with bootleg recordings.
