Today I learned Peter does in fact have a Twitter account, it's just he's never linked to it (the link at the bottom of the PC home page links to an empty account, supposedly Tina Fey's). I immediately began reading his backlog of tweets and favorited a ton of them.

I learned that at least one of Britney Spears' Pepsi commercials (the one where she sings old Pepsi jingles) has its own IMDB page.

EDIT: Her first Pepsi ad also has a page.

IMDb used to have a large archive of Usenet posts from rec.art.movies under imdb.com/reviews. Checked there last night, and they're gone.

So today I learned that my favorite feature of IMDb is destroyed. :(

"Marisa Tomei" is an anagram of "It's-a me, Mario!"

NBC aired an animated TV show based on Around the World in 80 Days in the 70's.

I learned that the Nintendo Switch has a variation on the GameCube's "hold Z to hear a different startup sound" trick: When the Switch asks you to push a button three times, tapping ZR activates a horn, rather than clicks.

They also used to have an easter egg in tribute to Iwata, in which doing the "directly to you" gesture with the Joycons on the day of his death triggered NES Golf. They seem to have gotten rid of it in the new updates though.
In other news, I learned that the singer Lisa Loeb has astigmatism and can't wear contacts.
EDIT: That was actually a false alarm, she can actually wear contacts but prefers glasses. Also she has her own eyewear line now. Seriously.

I learned that the Rick and Morty season three premiere almost aired at the end of season two instead, and the Purge parody ended up taking the slot opened up by moving it.

Like many late 70's game systems, the Coleco Telstar Arcade has no built-in processor. But its carts don't exactly contain pong-on-a chip units either. The funky-looking Coleco Telstar Arcade has a programmable microcontroler in each cartridge.

Also, the ZR button isn't the only Switch button that plays a different sound when you click it three times. ZL does it too, as well as if you press down on the two joysticks.

ZL I already knew about, but I didn't think the difference sounded as drastic.

Today I learned the Mana series was supposed to start on the NES! "Seiken Densetsu: Emergance of Excalibur" was planned as a Famicom Disk System title, but it was so big that it would've taken five disks to publish and Square wasn't a huge company at the time. So the release was cancelled, and nobody knows what they did with the game's code or even the ideas. The characters don't look familiar, and the first Mana game to be released ("Final Fantasy Adventure" on the Game Boy) has nothing to do with it.

I learned that in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Calamity Ganon's starting HP level decreases depending on how many dungeons the player cleared before facing him. I cleared four (not including Shrines), but I want to obtain the Master Sword before I fight him.

When your hands get dry and red due to cold Siberian wind, don't wash yourself with warm water unless you like a burning feeling in your hands...
