In the early twentieth century, Russo-Japanese War veteran Saichi “Immortal” Sugimoto scratches out a meager existence during the postwar gold rush in the wilderness of Hokkaido. When he stumbles across a map to a fortune in hidden Ainu gold, he sets off on a treacherous quest to find it. But Sugimoto is not the only interested party, and everyone who knows about the gold will kill to possess it! Faced with the harsh conditions of the northern wilderness, ruthless criminals and rogue Japanese soldiers, Sugimoto will need all his skills and luck—and the help of an Ainu girl named Asirpa—to survive.

Winner of the 9th Manga Taisho Award in 2016. Nominated for the 20th Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize and 40th Kodansha Manga Awards that same year.

First episode is this Sunday/Monday courtesy of Simulcast from Crunchyroll(Subbed) and Funimation(Dubbed).

When I heard Golden Kamuy was getting an anime adaption I was really excited but when seeing the first episode I had to take a step back. Its always sad when you see a good story held back with poor production and meanwhile crap shows like SAO get a budget that is too good for them. I'm sorry but that bear looked awful

Agree on both counts. Silver lining is that Love is Hard for Otaku has looked great and been awesome so far.
