Lots of good to look forward to in January.
How creepy are some of these "Death of the Family" covers? It's got me picking up Batman issues to go along with Batgirl, though there's no way they're getting me to grab all the tie-ins.
Read 2 issues of DC's He-Man comic out of sheer curiosity. Thought it was going to really drag out, but I guess in four issues this opening story arc will be done. Sooo, maybe that will develop and get fun whereas before I was worried it was going for a darker & edgier "the bad guy wins, what now" concept all the way.
Nice to see the Young Justice comic running with a storyline for longer than a couple of issues. Definitely interested to see how Babs manages to not die against Match.
Sword of Sorcery is worth it so far. Was kind of hoping they'd do more classical stuff along the lines of Beowulf in the second part, but it's all good.
-Justice League #16
-The Flash #16
-Earth 2 #8
-Justice League Dark #16: A new character based off of a Syfy show? Seriously? We're at that point now?
May Get/Not Getting But Worth Note
-Batman: The Dark Knight #16: So the series went from Finch's pet project to not having him at all. I really fail to see the reason for the series now.
-The Phantom Stranger #4: I wasn't exactly impressed with the first two issues, but this has Justice League Dark in it, so I don't know. Maybe.
-Grifter #16: And it comes to an end. It's sad. It had a lot of potential at the start, but when sales didn't match, they went into panic mode and blew it all to hell.
-Impulse vol. 1: Runs In The Family TP: I have the original issue, but, damn! That is tempting. Such great comics.
All Star Western
Worlds Finest #8 (the damien issue has to really impress me or im out)
Other "Death of the Family" tie ins.
It's now Ethan Van Sciver's reason for staying at DC Comics, and DC didn't want to let go of Greg Huritz yet.
Superman Family Adventures #9
Impulse, volume 1: Runs In the Family TPB
Superman vs. Shazam! TPB
Have to say goodbye to Batgirl because of the Death of the Family arc. Want no part of it.
That leaves me with All-Star Western. Adding He-Man to my pull list to replace Batgirl ASAP. Might get some of the TPB's down the line.....
SMALLVILLE SEASON 11 #9
DETECTIVE COMICS #16
BATMAN: THE DARK KNIGHT #16
BATMAN, INCORPORATED #7
BATMAN BEYOND UNLIMITED #12
LEGENDS OF THE DARK KNIGHT #4
JUSTICE LEAGUE #16
WONDER WOMAN #16
EARTH 2 #8
for some odd reason i was thinking we be starting off 2013 with a bang, but it all looks to be the same as it is right now in early 2013.
I have a small question:
Is this the entire storyline? I will admit this is tempting to get and I know I'll have some spare cash to throw around come March so this is interesting. I'd like to have this story in a nice collection.
it is indeed the ENTIRE 3 part (doomsday, funeral for a friend, and reign of the supermen) storyline.
I'm pretty sure jla #70 is the beginning of funeral for a friend. Why isn't it included here? (or in the world without a superman trade, for that matter?)
