Previously on Black Clover:
Licht claims it is his duty to destroy the Clover Kingdom and expresses anger that Asta possesses the 5 leaf Grimoire. Captain Yami appears through Finral’s portal and saves Asta with his sword, a Katana from his home country. Licht, who wields Light magic, decides to duel Yami, who uses Dark magic. As they duel Yami becomes convinced he has met Licht before. Licht reveals he comes from a village of magicians who were so powerful people worshipped them, but worship became jealousy and the magicians were killed and their magic stolen. Yami counters with his own more ridiculous tale of how he became the Bulls Captain. Licht admits to being the one who almost killed Fuegoleon so Yami wounds Licht’s face. Yami orders Asta to fight as well, despite Asta not being able to sense the magic attack. Yami explains he is not sensing Licht’s magic; he is sensing his Qi, the energy emitted by his every movement that reveal where he will attack next. Licht asks Valtos to capture Asta so Yami orders Asta to use his Qi sensing technique. After failing at first Asta senses Valtos attack, reflects it back at him and Valtos is knocked unconscious. Enraged at his comrades injury Licht destroys the cave, burying Asta and Yami under giant boulders. Before Licht and Valtos can leave Asta and Yami both burst out from under the boulders to continue fighting.

Tonight: Yami and Licht continue their battle and Asta faces off with Valtos. Meanwhile, Finral manages to get all of the kids and Theresa back to the town and Theresa gets treated for her injuries.

Sometimes you don't need complex spells or fancy weapons when just a good ol' punch will do.

So do you do anything besides use light magic and spout exposition?

Well, the young 'uns are safe at least.

"Mirror, mirror on the wall. Who's the creepiest siscon brother of them all?"

Did Gauche just save the day? Oy.

Oh goodie. More members from an evil organization. There's way too much for us to keep track of as is.

Wow, this was the first really over the top crazy fight in the entire series. Almost as if the staff were conserving all their resources for this moment. I guess the "amazing fight scenes" Black Clover fans hype maybe refers to this scene and stuff that comes later. Licht seems to be an even more unscrupulous version of Night Raid, willing to harm defenseless children for his revolution. At least there seems to be a little more to his character. Little upsetting that Gauche gets to save the day and not Yami. Licht got beat down easy, being the main villain of the last two arcs.

Episode 35 was pretty sweet,

Licht may be a horrible piece of crap worse than the awful nobles on hating the poor commoners, he's an Anti-Night Raid, but he's still my favorite best horrible interesting major villain with a sweet design.

Asta vs. Valtos was intense, but Asta crushing Valtos was awesome/satisfying, go Asta, he deserved it for injuring poor Fuegoloreon.

Yami vs. Licht was sweet, Yami tricking/damaging Licht was awesome/satisfying.

The children saved to their parents from Finral was sweet, I'm glad they're saved.

Sister Theresa/Marie are awesome for Asta, but they should not heal Gauche, let him suffer.

Licht's powerful spell Ray of Divine Punishment was cool.

Gauche to save Asta/Yami, it needed to be Yami instead, dang it, and Licht crushed was satisfying.
