Dark TV Vault: Free Spirit -- "Blast From The Past"
Winnie is 25 today!
If you're still looking for the "lost" free spirit episode you may want to bring it up at the Lost Media Wiki. They catalog lots of stuff that was made but never seen, and have even found stuff that otherwise was missing:
Lost Media Wiki
Thanks to this wiki, lots of formerly lost stuff was found (an almost near complete run of the "Emeril" sitcom), maybe the elusive episode 14 may turn up.
Good idea. I have a "lost" Screaming with Binky I need to digitize and donate to that wiki soon. Maybe they can scratch my back as well.
I can think of a lot of things that are not listed there.
Does anyone know which episode this was? I'm having trouble finding it.
Well, I was afraid of that. It's from an episode that was on the one tape I broke a long time ago.
All right, here goes nothing:
Free Spirit "Love and Death" (1990) - Lost Media Wiki
So nope -- it turns out I don't have the Binky short after all. But this gave me the motivation to get off my butt and add something ELSE I've needed to for a long time:
Tiny Toon Adventures (Lost Animation Retakes) - Lost Media Wiki
Do Charizard and Ridley count? I also can't remember a scene in Star Wars where someone used a lightsaber to fight a dragon, so why exactly would LucasFilm care if someone else made such a scene?
They care. That exact scene could have happened in Thundarr the Barbarian, but:
Fantastic Films Collectors Edition #20 (December, 1980): Thundarr the Barbarian | 2 Warps to Neptune
Thanks for uploading! Never saw those before.
Interesting observation about the sound effects not matching up on the Hamton/Buster scene. Never noticed that before for some reason. From the look of it, the version without the slap appears to be the retake (it looks more like McClenahan's work).
Wow... that Sweetie/Bookworm animation is way better than what we got on the DVD/Nick airings. Shame. Even as a kid, I remember thinking that drawing of Sweetie was really ugly (when she lifts her head into the frame after getting hit).
Do you also have the alternate version of the electric chair scene from "Best of Buster Day"?
I didn't know there was an alternate version of it. I probably do. I haven't watched every episode on DVD so I don't know everything that was replaced. What other episodes are different?
I haven't seen it myself, but apparently Fox's airing of that episode changed the ending of "Class Without Class" so that Buster and Dizzy don't get electrocuted (and Buster's voice changes to John Kassir for that scene only). The DVD shows the original scene where they both get electrocuted, which I believe was also in the Nick airings.
Regarding the Canadian airing of the 14th episode of "Free Spirit"...during that time period, CTV had first dibs on picking up shows from ABC; however I can not find anything if CTV even aired the show at all...
