From Publishers Weekly, an original Big Hero 6 graphic novel will be released, but not for a long while - Fall 2018 according to the article. Meanwhile, it also says "Spring 2018" for the cartoon. That could be an error, or it may be BH6 will get an hour long special for its debut like Tangled and Ducktales, then some time later the regular show premieres.

I gotta say, so far, I'm loving the art and animation for this series. I think Disney should take control of Marvel's animation division.

I didn't notice the Mr Sparkles billboard (Simpsons reference) or District 51 arcade cabinet (a reference to the old Area 51 game) before.

I think this Mr. Sparkles might be a reference to a villain that was cut from the final version of the movie.

That's neat. I wonder if they might use him on the series.

    A Halloween promo

It's too bad that the show isn't premiering a Halloween episode since it hasn't started airing and all.

From CBR, A new Big Hero 6 comic book series has been announced!

    ...

    ...

    ...

    ...

    ...

    ...

From IDW. Yes, the Marvel comic book series Disney used for the BH6 movie is now getting a comic book series from a company not named Marvel.

This is just one of the many weird ways BH6 is stuck between a "Is it Marvel or is it not Marvel?" branding problem at Disney. The Marvel name is great for some branding promotion for BH6, but yet its toy line (Bandai vs. Hasbro) and now its associated comic (IDW vs. Marvel) are creating distance between BH6's Marvel comic origins and current Disney movie and associated Disney XD series.

If they wanted it connected to Marvel, they'd definitely have them crossover with other Marvel characters.

It's really ironic that BH6 is a Marvel property and yet Marvel opts not to publish a new comic after the success of the film, hence IDW publishes it instead to the point that the Marvel team the film and TV show continuation are based on is well, in comic book limbo as they haven't appeared in the main Marvel continuity since 2012, in which they appeared in the Amazing Spider-Man storyline "Ends of the Earth".

They're putting a lot of emphasis on Baymax. Figured a tv show would be a great way to develop the rest of the cast since movie Fred was probably the only other team member we had greater insight into.

It seems like the show will follow the Ducktales route, and have it's pilot movie in November, and then formally premiere in early 2018. There will also be six shorts released on November 24.
