What company will release the 1966 Adam West Batman TV series on DVD? Warner Bros or FOX? I also hope Warner Bros releases the 1968 Filmation Batman on DVD as well this 2014 year.

If you read Conan O'Brien's tweet, he says right there that Warner Bros will be releasing the DVDs.

I know right! I'd LOVE it if in addition to the '66 show, we could also finally get the '60s cartoon on DVD! I love that show! I'd happily buy both.

There will no doubt be budget-friendly configurations of the show. Warner likely spent a mint getting the rights, so they're going to want as big an audience as possible.

I don't mean any offense, but we really don't know what's going to happen. I'm also not into the whole "'casual' viewers don't buy box sets with special features" idea, but I digress. I don't think we should assume anything until we get more information. OTOH, I am interested in how the rights got worked out...

    I'm thrilled.

I grew up with this series, AND the movie that spun off it. It is the gold standard of superhero camp.

I've seen just about every episode a couple dozen times each, and I'd not mind getting the DVD set. Like was suggested, I'd love to see the Batgirl pilot included. I had it on VHS once, later traded it to clear space, but this would be huge.

With the release now scheduled for November, the two big questions that are on my mind are when in November and how much (given how my birthday and Xmas are so close together).

Underwhelming package art indeed. It looks like the type of artwork/design that would be used as the wrapper for trading cards of the TV show. Since the art is underwhelming, I'm assuming the packaging wont be excessive/obnoxious and wont be a hassle to put on a shelf along with other DVDs or Blu-Rays.

I hope our local library gets this someday: I'd love to watch it with my brothers. We all grew up watching the TV movie special, which my parents recorded on VHS when I was young. I saw a couple of the standalone episodes too when we were vacationing down in Florida over a decade ago, but since my family has never had more than basic cable, I've never seen more than that.
