Good morning! Psyched for the Square Enix conference this Monday? Will we learn something surprising and earth-shattering about Kingdom Hearts 3?
I have some news for you….we just did. Square just revealed exactly when Kingdom Hearts 3 will be released to the public…in a tweet. Less than two days before their giant E3 presentation, the company sent this brief message out in the middle of the night…

So…why like this? Square said in a follow-up tweet that they made the decision so they could reveal something good at an earlier event of theirs. “We’ve announced the release day for KINGDOM HEARTS III ahead of E3 at the KINGDOM HEARTS Orchestra -World Tour-. I’m sorry that we’re asking for a little more time than initially planned. Please look forward to other information, including a few trailers at E3. Thank you – Nomura.”
Kingdom Hearts 3 has certainly suffered longer delays than this, but it does unfortunately mean the game will not meet its long-promised 2018 release window. We’ll have more news about the game once Square’s livestream begins Monday, June 11 at 10 AM Pacific, 1 PM Eastern. It will be the first big E3 press event from Square in three years, though they’re going to pull a Nintendo and release it as an internet video, not a physical stage presentation.
