Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze Doing Well In Japan

by on May 11, 2018

How’s Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze doing sales wise? How’s Japan receiving it?

The Switch has done very well games wise since its release. But one of the reasons this is so, is because Nintendo has been porting titles from the Wii U to the Switch to give these games new life. And for the most part, it’s worked out rather well. Games like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Pokken Tournament, and more have done well. And most recently, Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was ported to the system.

Sales numbers are still incoming, however, in Japan, the game sold through 65% of its initial shipment, selling about 90,000 units. In comparison, when the game came out on Wii U, it only sold 35% of its initial shipment.

While the US and other regions are still unknown, this does bode well for the popular franchise.
