Disney distribution head Dave Hollis addressed the crowd at CinemaCon this morning to reveal the official title of the upcoming Wreck-It Ralph sequel. It’s an unwieldy one: Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2. Wonder what happens in it.
“To take these characters we love and have them enter the enormous world of the internet has given us so much to explore,” said co-director Rich Moore. “Our production team has been hard at work designing a world that takes something we all think we know – the internet – but shows it in a whole new, imaginative way.”
While he was on the subject of Ralph, Hollis confirmed that Fix-it Felix and Sergeant Calhoun (who, spoilers, coupled up and married within the course of the first movie’s plot) will be back in the sequel, once again voiced by Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch. Until now only Ralph and Vanellope were known to be returning. Good thing too….the Internet’s broken. Fix it, Felix!
Congress is more likely to break the Internet before Ralph does, but assuming that doesn’t happen in a year, Ralph will do the task himself on March 9, 2018, when Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 premieres in theaters.
