Ward Jenkins Talks "Twice Upon a Time" with Taylor Jessen and Harley Jessup
On his weblog, Ward Jenkins has posted two separate interviews about the cult animated film Twice Upon a Time, which used an innovative cut-out animation technique called Lumage and was executive produced by George Lucas. The first interview (posted in early September) was with writer Taylor Jessen, who focuses on the lack of a DVD release of the movie but also discusses the supplemental materials that are ready for any DVD release as well as missing artwork and animators from the film.
The second interview is with the film’s art director Harley Jessup, who discusses how he got his job with Korty Films, working in the arduous Lumage process, his sources of inspiration for his work on the movie, the multiple versions of the film that were available in the early 1990’s, and his current work with Pixar Animation Studios.
