Twenty Films Submitted for Animated Feature Oscar Consideration

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences has announced that a total of twenty films have been submitted for consideration for the next Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. The number suggests that a total of five nominees will be picked, although seven of the features have yet to run in Los Angeles and therefore do not currently meet the qualifying criteria for nomination.

The twenty films are as follows:

“Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel”
“Astro Boy”
“Battle for Terra”
“Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs”
“Disney’s A Christmas Carol”
“The Dolphin – Story of a Dreamer”
“Fantastic Mr. Fox”
“Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs”
“Mary and Max”
“The Missing Lynx”
“Monsters vs. Aliens”
“Planet 51”
“The Princess and the Frog”
“The Secret of Kells”
“Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure”
“A Town Called Panic”
