The Return Of Sharknado: Sharknado’s Revenge

by on August 1, 2013

When “Sharknado” – SyFy’s original film mocking a combination of bad science fiction movies and bad acting – debuted earlier this month, it was met with an overwhelming positive reaction that created a perfect Twitter storm of Ed Wood-type love and gore. SyFy was so pleased with the response that they ran a repeat of “Sharknado” the following week, promoted it and a naming contest for the inevitable Sharknado sequel at Comic-Con 2013 in San Diego and ran it for a third time last week – where it captured its best ratings yet. Now, the network announced that the global warming-induced shark-filled tornadoes will terrorize Los Angeles one more time this summer when it runs the film for the final time in August [while the as-yet-unnamed but New York-based sequel will debut in July 2014].

“Sharknado” will air for the fourth and final time [along with another SyFy original movie, “Ghost Shark”] on the SyFy network on August 22, 2013.
