"The Rabbi’s Cat" Graphic Novel Getting Animated Adaptation

by on June 4, 2010

The Wall Street Journal reports that Joann Sfar’s graphic novel The Rabbi’s Cat will be adapted into an animated film to be directed by Sfar, making it one of a number of recent comics-to-film adaptations. The article also notes the big-budget adaptation of Hergé’s Tintin from Peter Jackson and Steven Spielberg that will use motion-captured CGI and is one of the few adaptations coming from major Hollywood studios; and also the follow-up movie from Persepolis‘ Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Paronnaud: a live-action adaptation of her graphic novel Chicken with Plums.
