Bowie goes to Bikini Bottom

The Sci-Fi Wire reports that Rock Star David Bowie will appear in a future episode of Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants. Bowie said that his 6-year-old daughter loves the show, and she’s a huge fan. Bowie will play a character called Lord Royal Highness. The episode will be out next year.

This week’s Animated Shorts column at Newsarama states that Nickelodeon will be debuting Wow! Wow! Wubbzy on Nick Jr. and Noggin this Monday, August 28, at 11:00 AM. The show will be aimed at pre-schoolers and is produed by Bob Boyle (Danny Phantom, Fairly OddParents).

The Fairly Oddparents‘s “Fairy Idol” drew five million viewers during its May 19 premiere, making it the highest-rated program of the day among kids 2-11, 6-11, and 9-14, Nickelodeon said today.
