Mainframe to Animate 2006 MTV Movie Awards

Mainframe Entertainment will create the logo, branding, and original animation segments for this year’s MTV Movie Awards, the company announced today. "Popetown" Draws Fire from German Catholics

German Catholic groups are protesting the upcoming Popetown animated series to be shown on MTV’s German-language channel beginning on May 3. The series was originally developed for the BBC, which opted not to air the show because it was too controversial (see Toon Zone News’ earlier coverage). MTV has no plans to change its schedule.

An article on Sci Fi Wire states that Aeon Flux creator Peter Chung wanted to do an animated movie instead of a live-action one. Chung further said that he was not involved in the making of the live-action version, and is apparently still working on an idea for an animated Flux movie.
