Sanjeev Waeerkar, UTV Creative Director, will hold a workshop in Mumbai titled “Animation for those who can’t draw” on January 19, AnimationXpress reports. The workshop, which is being organized by The Animation Society of India, will focus on “teaching acting, managing a team and handling the project in the way director wants,” according to Waeerkar.

Imagi Animation Studios has announced the placement of convertible bonds worth HK6 million (which is approximately $52.07 million in U.S. dollars at current exchange rates), which will be used to finance production of feature films, including its CGI animated versions of Astro Boy and Gatchaman. India’s Toonz Academy will open a new training academy in Hyderabad this month, India PR Wire reports. Toonz Academy, which is an affiliate of Toonz Animation, plans to add other centers in Ahmedabad, Chennai, Bangalore, Visakhapatnam and Bhubaneswar in coming months.
