Indian actor Dileep has filed a copyright infringement against the maker of an animated movie, Galatta.com reports. The lawsuit concerns CID Moosa 007, an animated adaptation of a 2003 live-action film starring Dileep. The actor claims it was produced without his permission; the toon’s director, Binu Sasidharan, denies the allegation.
Compact Disc India has raised $40 million from UK banks to finance two animated features, The Hollywood Reporter says. The company will put the loans toward production on Soccer, an animated feature based on the life of Brazil’s Ronaldo, and Eternal Love, about the Shah who built the Taj Mahal.

Pritish Nandy Communications and DQ Entertainment will co-develop and co-produce six movies over the next four years, ZeeNews reports. The $45 million deal will include both animated and live-action features. It follows a five-movie co-production deal between Pritish Nandy and Motion Pixel Corp. and a three-movie co-production deal between DQ and Percept Picture Co.
Winter Sonata, a hit Korean TV drama, will be remade as an animated series and feature film, Variety reports. The series’ star, Bae Yong-joon, will provide the voice of the same character he played in the original show. Korea’s Key East and Japan’s Total Promotions will co-produce.
Children’s channel KidsCo will launch in South Korea, Singapore, Palau, and the Philippines on March 20, World Screen reports.
