FUNimation has created a two-hour animation block for syndication airing, C21Media reports. The block will use various Japanese shows which FUNimation hold rights to, such as Yu Yu Hakusho and DragonBall Z.

FUNimation Acquires Certain Rights to "Afro Samurai"

FUNimation Entertainment has acquired home video, master toy and merchandising rights to Afro Samurai, an animated miniseries scheduled to premiere on Spike TV later this year. FUNimation Announces New Titles For April and May

While FUNimation does not have any new series to launch during April and May, it has several further volumes for many of their longer-running series. The company plans to release new installments of Baki the Grappler, Case Closed, Dragon Ball Z, Fullmetal Alchemist, Kodocha, and others. Animeondvd.com has details.

FUNimation Announces FUNimation Channel

A press release states that Navarre’s FUNimation Entertainment is launching the FUNimation channel, another 24-hour digital cable channel dedicated to anime. The channel will be distributed via OlympuSAT and should be available now to video service providers nationwide.

Thomas and Fleck Promoted at FUNimation

Navarre Corp. has promoted Ward Thomas to Senior VP of Sales and Operations for FUNimation and upped Joyce Fleck to VP of Sales & Marketing for FUNimation, AWN reports. Fleck takes over the sales responsibilities previously held by Thomas, in addition to her previous position of VP of Marketing for Navarre Corp.
