Navarre Corp. has promoted Ward Thomas to Senior VP of Sales and Operations for FUNimation and upped Joyce Fleck to VP of Sales & Marketing for FUNimation, AWN reports. Fleck takes over the sales responsibilities previously held by Thomas, in addition to her previous position of VP of Marketing for Navarre Corp.

FUNimation has acquired North American rights to Basilisk, a 24-episode anime series produced by Gonzo Digimation, AWN reports, citing ICv2.com. Set in the early 17th Century, the series mixes aspects of the ninja and horror genre with a Romeo & Juliet-like romance between the leaders of two mutant ninja clans.
