NYCC 2012: Man of Action Panel Report

by darkdetectiveon October 17, 2012
There were surprisingly few people at the Man of Action panel; only around a few dozen. "Ben 10: Ultimate Alien": The Mostest Special-est Snowflake

by Maxie Zeuson May 9, 2012
We know the bad guy in “Simian Says” deserves what he gets, because he screams and rants and threatens and all but flings his own poo at our heroes just before some big jaws close around him. But that’s Ben 10‘s style–it’s also present in “Prisoner 775,” which paints any police or military force Ben […]

by Maxie Zeuson November 25, 2011
Ben 10/Generator Rex “Heroes United” has been reviewed independently by two different Toonzone staff members. The verdict? Ben 10 in its various forms (no pun intended) has been a hit for Cartoon Network for the last decade. Of course this has caused any number of fan debates, with […]

"Ben 10/Generator Rex: Heroes United" Offers A Safe Crossover

by Todd DuBoison November 25, 2011
The plot is awfully straightforward and unsurprising. Ben and Rex meet and brawl for the fans, they learn what’s going on, they bond a bit, and then they have a grand showdown with the villain. The narrative does remember to have a little fun with its concept, at least. For instance the idea of a […]

"Ben 10: Ultimate Alien" Vol. 2: Boredom from Beyond the Stars

by Maxie Zeuson May 8, 2011
It’s been a long time since I’ve watched Ben 10, a show that in its initial run struck me as, at best, an extended toy commercial, and at worst as a lot of crude pandering to playground bullies, their sycophants, and their sneaking admirers. But it’s my turn to watch and review the latest Ben […]
