SDCC2010: "G.I. Joe: Renegades" Goes Underground October 10

by on July 26, 2010

G.I. Joe: Renegades was one of the new featured projects from Hasbro Productions this year at the San Diego Comic-Con. The new animated series will premiere on October 10 along with Transformers: Prime on The Hub network. The show will be an origin story and feature a small team of Joes on the run from the falsely “benevolent” Cobra Industries. Fans in attendance at the San Diego Comic-Con could visit The Hub booth to get employed by Cobra Industries, receiving their very own Cobra Industries ID badge.

The series will be a fresh start and new continuity for the G.I. Joe brand and will not be connected to any previous shows or movies. The show still features the G.I. Joe characters we know and are familiar with. Henry Gilroy will be serving as the show’s chief writer and Jeff Kline is producing. Hasbro previewed a short clip of animation at their G.I. Joe panel at the convention. More information about G.I. Joe: Renegades will become available as we get closer to the show’s 10.10.10 launch.
