In an interview with the Calgary Sun newspaper, Robin Williams has suggested that a public falling out with Michael Eisner and Jeffrey Katzenberg in 1992 has prevented him from working in animated films for Disney or DreamWorks. The original feud was over the use of Williams’ voice as the Genie in Aladdin in toys and merchandise. The Sun (and perhaps Williams) fail to note the reconciliation between Disney and Williams which led to his return as the Genie in Aladdin and the King of Thieves in 1996.
