Release Dates Announced for “Batman: The Killing Joke” Animated Feature

Superhero Hype has reported that the upcoming DC Comics Animated Movie Batman: The Killing Joke will hit stores on August 2, 2016, and with availablity of the Digital HD version on July 23, 2016.

Based on the graphic novel by Alan Moore (Swamp Thing, Watchmen) and Brian Bolland (2000AD, Judge Dredd, and many DC Comics covers), the film chronicles the origin of Batman’s most dangerous foes from a struggling stand-up comic to the Red Hood to the Clown Prince of Crime. Batman: The Killing Joke features the voices of Batman: The Animated Series veterans Mark Hamill (Star Wars) as the Joker and Kevin Conroy as Batman, as well as Tara Strong (Rugrats, The Fairly OddParents, The Powerpuff Girls, and Teen Titans) as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl and Ray Wise (Twin Peaks, RoboCop, and God’s Not Dead 2) as Commissioner Gordon.

Batman: The Killing Joke will have it’s premiere later this summer at Comic-Con in San Diego.
