Real LA Community Members Profiled During "Higglytown Heroes" Spotlight

by on July 16, 2005

Members of Los Angeles area communities with occupations spanning both the public and private sectors will describe for preschool age viewers what they do and how they help contribute to their communities through their various jobs during interstitials presented during Playhouse Disney’s Super Special Heroes programming event beginning Monday, July 18, at 8:00am (ET/PT) on Disney Channel. Each on-air interstitial will correlate to an animated hero on Playhouse Disney’s series Higglytown Heroes and is designed to help children learn the hero’s role in the community. The real life heroes will interact with their animated counterpart in each interstitial.

“Make-A-Hero,” an online feature at www.PlayhouseDisney.com, invites viewers to recognize a hero in their own community by creating and printing a “Higgly” image that looks like that person. With a parent’s permission, kids can submit the image to PlayhouseDisney.com to be considered for inclusion on the Playhouse.com Hero Hall of Fame gallery.
