New Season of Pokémon to Air Exclusively on Cartoon Network
All New Episodes of Pokémon®: Battle Frontier to Begin September 9
The tale of Ash Ketchum, Pikachu and their friends continues as they face some of their biggest adventures yet in the brand new ninth season of the popular Pokémon series. Pokémon: Battle Frontier will air exclusively on Cartoon Network, part of Cartoon Network’s Saturday morning line-up of comedic and action-adventure programming. The new season kicks off on Saturday, Sept. 9, at 9 a.m. (ET, PT) with a special one-hour episode. The series will air regularly on Saturday mornings at 9:30 a.m. (ET, PT).
Pokémon: Battle Frontier takes Ash and Pikachu back to the Kanto region to complete the Battle Frontier, seven ultimate tests that will challenge Ash’s skills as a Pokémon Trainer. Ash’s friend May must also face some stiff competition as she seeks to win Kanto’s Pokémon Contests and become a top Pokémon Coordinator. Together, these two Trainers and their friends will recruit more Pokémon, battle powerful opponents, and make new friends, all in this climactic ninth season of Pokémon. Following is the September schedule of Pokémon: Battle Frontier. All times ET, PT.
Saturday, Sept. 9, 9 a.m.: “Fear Factor Phony” – Ash and friends wander into a ghost town where they try to help settle a dispute between a group of Ghost Pokémon and a group of Psychic Pokémon.
9:30 a.m.: “Sweet Baby James” – When May’s Munchlax gets sick, Ash and friends seek the help of a kind elderly couple who specialize in healing Pokémon , and who just happen to be James’ Nanny and Pop-Pop as well.
Saturday, Sept. 16, 9:30 a.m.: “A Chip off the Old Brock” – At the same time Brock’s Mudkip evolves into a Marshtomp, Ash and friends befriend and ultimately help an elderly pharmacist and her assistant to fight off Team Rocket’s thieving advances.
Saturday, Sept. 23, 9:30 a.m.: “Wheel of Frontier” – Ash battles Frontier Brain Greta to win his second Frontier Symbol, the Guts Symbol.
Saturday, Sept. 30, at 9:30 a.m.: “May’s Egg-Cellent Adventure” – May helps the daughter of a family of Pokémon Egg ranchers start her own Pokémon Contest journey and receives her own Pokémon Egg as a thank-you gift.
