DISNEY CHANNEL EXTENDS THEIR STREAK AS BASIC CABLE’S NO. 1 NETWORK IN PRIME TO 76 WEEKS IN KIDS 6-11 AND 72 WEEKS IN TWEENS 9-14
For the second consecutive week, Disney Channel sets records with an original series premiere, as “Handy Manny” (Saturday, September 16, 10:00-10:30 a.m.) debuted as Playhouse Disney’s most-watched series premiere on record in Kids 2-5 (1.11 million/7.0 rating), Girls 2-5 (588,000/7.6 rating) and Boys 2-5 (521,000/6.4 rating). Moreover, “Handy Manny’s” series premiere now stands as Playhouse Disney’s most-watched series telecast of all time in Girls 2-5, and third-most-watched in Kids 2-5, behind only its back-to-back lead-in telecasts of “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” (see below).
“Handy Manny’s” series premiere on Saturday, September 16 (10:00-10:30 a.m.) ranked No.1 in its time period versus all basic cable in Kids 2-5 (1.11 million), Girls 2-5 (588,000) and Boys 2-5 (521,000).
“Mickey Mouse Clubhouse’s” airing on Saturday, September 16 (9:00-9:30 a.m.) now stands as Playhouse Disney’s most-watched series telecast of all-time in the daypart in Total Viewers (2.71 million) and Kids 2-5 (1.15 million), with its showing at 9:30 a.m. the second most-watched on record in Total Viewers (2.68 million) and Kids 2-5 (1.14 million).
Powered by record deliveries for “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse” and all-time high numbers for the debut of newest original series “Handy Manny,” all on Saturday, Disney Channel’s weekend portion of its Playhouse Disney Block (Sat-Sun, 6:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.) delivered its largest Total Viewer (1.83 million), Kid 2-5 (655,000), Girl 2-5 (339,000) and Boy 2-5 (316,000) audiences of all-time.
Following last week’s successful launch, original series “The Replacements” stood as TV’s most-watched animated program (broadcast and basic cable) in Kids 6-11 (952,000).
Averaging all plays, original series “Hannah Montana” stood as the week’s most-watched series on all basic cable in Tweens 9-14 (966,000).
Disney Channel took home basic cable’s prime trophy for the 76th consecutive week in Kids 6-11 (874,000/3.6 rating), with the streak 72 weeks in Tweens 9-14 (808,000/3.3 rating).
