Cecropia Brings Groundbreaking Animated Video Game, The Act, to Rhode Island School of Design

LEXINGTON, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Independent video game developer Cecropia (www.cecropia.com) continues to build momentum for its unique interactive comedy “The Act.” Cecropia announced that the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) has installed The Act in the Portfolio Café on campus.

The Act was created by an all-star team of former Disney animators. It gives players the unique experience of playing a video game that’s also a high quality, hand drawn, animated feature film.

Brian James, Director of Residence Life at RISD, said, “We are pleased to bring The Act to the RISD community. We think our students and visitors will enjoy playing this innovative and beautifully-drawn video game.”

In the game, players take the role of Edgar, a shy window washer who is tossed into a strange role and must maintain the deception – The Act – through a series of increasingly challenging scenes. Players use a simple knob to control Edgar’s reactions and interactions with a comic supporting cast. Reaction to The Act, from hard-core gamers to people who don’t usually play video games, is outstanding.

Cecropia Founder Omar Khudari said, “We’re gratified that one of the world’s leading design schools recognizes the art and entertainment value of The Act. It’s an important proof point that we’re providing highly entertaining video games with rich content, great characters, and enjoyable story lines.”
