Preschoolers Join the Mickey Mouse Club-house
Early next year Disney will utilize its classic characters in the brand new show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. The series will be part of the Disney Playhouse bloc aimed at preschoolers. This will be the first animated series for Mickey Mouse since House of Mouse debuted in 2001.
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse features Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and Pluto helping viewers solve specific problems by utilizing skills such as shape identification and basic counting. Meanwhile, Mickey himself will encourage viewers to actively participate in completing tasks and puzzles to resolve the problem of the day.
“Walt Disney Television Animation is excited to have the opportunity to work with Mickey Mouse again and to collaborate for the first time with the Playhouse Disney team,” said Barry Blumberg, President, Walt Disney Television Animation. “We look forward to building upon the legacy of entertainment, laughter and joy that Mickey has brought to children and families around the world.”
Playhouse Disney’s is a daily programming bloc on Disney Channel featuring a “whole child” curriculum of cognitive, social and creative learning opportunities. The goal is to support multiple areas of a child’s development including physical, emotional, social and cognitive; thinking and creative skills as well as moral and ethical development through carefully constructed themes, storylines and characters.
