PR: Teletoon Stuffed with Festive Specials and Premieres this Holiday Season

T’is the season for TELETOON with enough holiday specials to deck not only the halls but the entire house. Whether they’ve been naughty or nice TELETOON treats viewers to five days filled with festive specials beginning when school ends on December 21 at 3 pm ET/PT. Seasonal programming includes holiday episodes of 6TEEN, Ricky Sprocket and George of the Jungle and much more. Plus, TELETOON unwraps the Canadian broadcast premieres of Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale, A Christmas Carol: Scrooge’s Ghostly Tale and the Canadian produced Stardust as well as the TELETOON premiere of Olive the Other Reindeer starring Drew Barrymore. As the new year arrives, TELETOON welcomes 2008 with a marathon broadcast of Total Drama Island including the final episode of the animated reality TV show. Five Full Days of Holiday Magic
As soon as school lets-out on December 21 at 3 pm, TELETOON marks the beginning of the holidays and counts down to Christmas with five days stuffed solid with seasonal specials including festive episodes of 6TEEN that follow Wyatt, Caitlin and the rest of the gang as they deal with finding a perfect date for the winter dance, finding that perfect gift for their Christmas crush and the chaos of the mall during the holidays. TELETOON holiday specials also include a seasonal George of the Jungle, on December 23 at 2:30 pm ET/PT that sees the jungle inhabitants learn the true meaning of the holidays and encounter three time-travelling goats. Viewers can catch a cheer-filled Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends on Saturday, December 22 at 10 am ET/PT in which Mac and Bloo start to question the reality of Santa Claus, and set out to prove his existence with almost disastrous results. Holiday Premieres
Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale
On Saturday, December 8 at 5 pm ET/PT, TELETOON Presents has the Canadian broadcast premiere of
Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale starring the furry foes in a wonderland full of holiday magic and set to the music of Tchaikovsky’s “The Nutcracker”. Viewers can also catch Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale on Saturday, December 22 at 5 pm and Sunday, December 23 at 9 am ET/PT.

Produced by Quebec-based PVP Animation, Stardust has its Canadian broadcast premiere on Tuesday, December 18 at 4 pm ET/PT on TELETOON. A contemporary, heart-warming cartoon, Stardust follows the journey of a young orphan boy who discovers the true meaning of family while embarking on a trip to the find the magical powder that powers Santa’s sleigh, accompanied by an elf, and an Inuit girl.

A Christmas Carol: Scrooge’s Ghostly Tale
A CGI retelling of the Charles Dickens’ classic, A Christmas Carol: Scrooge’s Ghostly Tale sees the miserly, Ebenezer Scrooge, a mean-spirited skunk, learn the value of the holidays when he is visited by ghosts on Christmas Eve. A Christmas Carol: Scrooge’s Ghostly Tale has its Canadian broadcast premiere on December 19 at 5 pm ET/PT and airs again on December 23 at 3 pm and December 24 at 6 pm ET/PT.

Olive the Other Reindeer
A sweet but confused dog thinks herself a season-saving reindeer in Olive the Other Reindeer, airing for the first time ever on TELETOON on December 18 at 5 pm ET/PT. Starring Drew Barrymore as Olive and featuring the voices of Dan Castellaneta and Michael Stipe, Olive the Other Reindeer also airs on December 22 at 8 am and 4 pm and Christmas Eve at 11 am and 7 pm ET/PT.

The Countdown Begins
December 3 to 9
From December 3 families can follow Santa’s preparations for Christmas in The Secret World of Santa Claus with three chances to catch the show Monday to Friday at 7 am, 3:30 pm and 7 pm ET/PT until December 21. On December 8 at 5 pm ET/PT Tom and Jerry star in the Canadian broadcast premiere of Tom & Jerry: A Nutcracker Tale.

December 10 to 16
A Holiday-Style Spin Cycle begins the second week of December as holiday specials of TELETOON
favourites are spun into the schedule, beginning at 4 pm Monday to Thursday. Viewers can catch festive episodes of shows including Ricky Sprocket, Totally Spies! and Carl2. Friday, December 14, is Fan Friday on the Spin Cycle where one lucky viewer will decide what is in store for audiences of Spin Cycle by picking their favourite shows at teletoon.com.

On the weekend of December 15, vintage festive editions of classic cartoons come to TELETOON between 7 and 8:30 pm ET/PT. kicking (or should that be hopping?) off on Saturday with Bugs Bunny’s Looney Christmas Tales followed by Fat Albert Christmas Special and Casper’s 1st Christmas. On Sunday Daffy stars in Bah Humduck! at 7 pm followed by a snowy Bedrock in a holiday episode of The Flintstones and a space-aged holiday edition of The Jetsons.

December 17 to 23
The Holiday-Style Spin Cycle continues, Monday to Friday from 4 to 6 pm ET/PT and this week includes the premiere of Stardust on December 18 at 4 pm ET/PT followed by Olive the Other Reindeer at 5 pm. On December 19, beloved Looney Tunes characters make “A Christmas Carol”, their own with Bugs Bunny Looney Tunes Christmas Tales at 4 pm and Bah Humduck! A Looney Christmas at 4:30 pm ET/PT.

On December 21, beginning at 3 pm ET/PT, TELETOON celebrates school finishing for the holidays with five days packed solid with seasonal specials including shows such as 6TEEN, What’s New Scooby-Doo? and TMNT.

December 24 to 30
The Five Days of Holiday Magic continue right up to and including Christmas Day when families can enjoy a marathon of The Secret World of Santa Claus which runs for 13 hours beginning at 6 am ET/PT. The holiday edition of The Bugs Bunny and Tweety Show airs at 7:30 pm ET/PT including the classic Looney Tunes shorts ‘The Fright Before Christmas’ and ‘The Abominable Snow Rabbit’.

On December 26, the girls with a passion for fashion take over TELETOON from 9 am to 2 pm ET/PT in a Bratz Boxing Day Shopping Spree including brand new episodes of the sassy show and the hour-long Bratz: Fashion Pixiez special episode.

The new-look Shaggy and Scooby-Doo have four back-to-back episodes of mystery solving on December 27 in Shaggy and Scooby-Doo Get a Clue!, while on December 28, Alien transformations and saving the world from evil is all part of an average day for Ben Tennyson in four episodes of Ben 10.

Shaggy and Scoob face horror in the Himalayas in Chill Out Scooby-Doo! on December 27 at 9 am ET/PT, while there are a crew of monstrous mariners to overcome in Scooby-Doo! in Pirates Ahoy! On December 28. Mystery Gang fans can catch the live-action, Scooby-Doo II: Monsters Unleashed at 5 pm ET/PT on December 29.

Total Drama Island Marathon and Season One Finale
The new year sees the first season of animated reality TV show, Total Drama Island come to a climax with back to back episodes including a special highlights episode and the grand finale on Friday, January 4 beginning at 4 pm, with a repeat broadcast at 5 pm ET/PT on Sunday, January 6. The final episode will include a special guest appearance from the camper avatar designed by the skilful viewer who racked up the most marshmallows over the last few months playing the online Total Drama Island games at teletoon.com/tdi. Leading up to the Friday finale viewers can catch up on all of the action at Camp Wawanakwa with a Total Drama Island marathon on New Year’s Eve from noon to 6 pm and on January 1, also from noon.
