LAIKA’s ParaNorman took in $14.1 million (estimated) in ticket sales in its premiere weekend, landing it in the third-place spot on the weekend box office charts behind The Expendables 2 ($28.59M) and The Bourne Legacy ($17.06M). ParaNorman‘s box office take puts it behind the $16.8M debut weekend of LAIKA’s previous film Coraline, but ahead of Sony/Aardman’s The Pirates! Band of Misfits‘ disappointing $11.1M debut weekend earlier this year.
