Otakon 2013: Viz Announces Rerelease of “Ranma 1/2” Anime and More

At Otakon 2013 today Viz made several announcements at its Saturday industry panel, including the rerelease of the “Ranama 1/2” anime starting in the fall of 2013 on both DVD and Blu-Ray disc. Viz also announced that they have acquired “Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet” and “Blood Lad” DVD and Blu-Ray. Additionally, “Blood Lad” will be screened on the Neon Alley channel on starting on Sunday August 11th. Viz also announced that the “Zetman” complete series release will be coming out on 11/5/2013, while the “Accel World” first series set will be released on 11/26/2013 with a 48 page art book included. There was no date announced for the 2nd “Accel World” set, but Viz did say that the set will include an english-dubbed version of the mini-episodes.

In addition to the new anime releases, Viz announced several properties for the Neon Alley channel and several new manga releases. For Neon Alley they have added “Puella Magi Madoka Magica” and “Magi – The Labyrinth of Magic” for the fall of 2013.

For new manga releases there will be a complete set of “Bakuman” coming out on 10/1/2013 and “Monster” will be rereleased in a 2-volumes-in-1 series starting in July of 2014. Viz also announced that they will be releasing a American graphic novel adaptation of the Japanese sci-fi novel “All You Need is Kill” in conjunction with the 2014 release of the Hollywood adaptation called “Edge of Tomorrow”.
