NYC’s Nickelodeon Digital Animation Studio Shuts Down

by on December 5, 2008

As part of larger cutbacks at parent company Viacom, the Nickelodeon Animation Digital Studio in New York City will be shutting down. The studio currently hosts 4 production units for Dora the Explorer/Go, Diego, Go!, The Backyardigans, and as-yet unpremiered shows Bubble Guppies and Team Umizoomi. According to a post at the ASIFA-East weblog, the first three production units will stay intact and move to other locations, while Nickelodeon seeks to finish season 1 of Team Umizoomi at another studio as work for hire, using as much of the original team as possible.
