NY Times on "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" Oscar Odds

by on January 13, 2010

The New York Times has taken a look at The Fantastic Mr. Fox and its chances for taking an Academy Award away from the current frontrunner: Disney/Pixar’s Up (free registration required). Among other topics, the article notes how Fantastic Mr. Fox has won best animated film awards from both the New York Film Critics Circle and the Los Angeles Film Critics Association, besting Up with both groups, as well as how Fox director Wes Anderson managed to produce such a good film in a medium he is unfamiliar with and how Up also faces stiff competition from the likes of Ponyo, Coraline, and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
