Nickelodeon Launches TurboNick

by on July 6, 2005

Nickelodeon is launching TurboNick, a broadband video platform available on Nick.com that allows viewers to watch full length shows online at any time. The service features up to 20 hours of new programming each week, allowing viewers to watch programming clips and full length episodes ranging from 30 seconds to 22 minutes in length.

TurboNick is organized by six separate areas, each containing up to five different series with two or more episodes to choose from. The themed areas include “Nicktoons”; “TEENick”; “Ha! Ha! Nick”; “Nick Rewind”; “Nicksclusives”; and “Nick Now!”. PR Newswire has details on each section.

TurboNick, launching July 17, will also include interviews from the 2005 Kids Choice Awards, animated short-form programming from Nick Australia, and other new short form programming content.

In addition to TurboNick, Nickelodeon is rolling out two more broadband video initiatives: Nick Jr. Parents TV and Nick Jr. Video.

Built exclusively for the parent audience, Nick Jr. Parents TV will feature playful “how-to” parent-child do-together activities.

A new version of Nick Jr. Video, designed for preschoolers, will launch with upgraded video quality on August 10, featuring more than 100 video clips from preschool shows and interstitials. It will also feature various Nick Jr. series.
