• Actor Harry Morgan passed away on December 7, 2011, at the age of 96. The actor is best known as Col. Sherman T. Potter on the TV series M*A*S*H (and its brief spin-off series AfterMASH), as well as Officer Bill Gannon opposite Jack Webb's Sgt. Joe Friday on Dragnet. Morgan reprised his role as Bill Gannon on an episode of The Simpsons, and performed as Carolinus in the 1982 animated feature The Flight of Dragons.
  
• Actor Bill McKinney passed away on December 8, 2011, at the age of 80. McKinney's best known role was as "Mountain Man" in the 1972 film Deliverance, where he memorably menaced vacationing suburbanites played by Jon Voight and Ned Beatty. He portrayed the Old West bounty hunter Jonah Hex in the episode "Showdown" of Batman: The Animated Series.
  
• Comic artist, political cartoonist, and creators' rights advocate Jerry Robinson passed away on December 8, 2011, at the age of 89. Robinson collaborated with Batman creator Bob Kane to create or co-create the Joker, Robin the Boy Wonder, Two-Face, and Bruce Wayne's butler Alfred. With fellow artist Neal Adams, Robinson was also instrumental in a pension arrangement for Superman co-creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in the 1970's on the eve of the release of the Superman feature film.
