Nickelodeon Reps "Overwhelmed" By Fan Turnout at InvaderCON

Nickelodeon representatives covertly attending InvaderCON, the Invader ZIM convention in Atlanta, GA March 26th, 2011 were quoted as saying that they were "overwhelmed at the fan following" and attendance for the event.

InvaderCON organizers Green Mustard Entertainment (aka Wasabi Anime) are known for such successful conventions as The Florida Anime Experience and the Florida Supercon. They promoted InvaderCON as "the first and only" Invader ZIM convention. Fan turnout was much greater than anticipated, with estimated attendance around 1,000 for the first day of the convention. Some fans traveled from countries as far away as Australia and Germany to have the opportunity to meet ZIM guests Richard Horvitz (voice of Zim), Rikki Simons (Gir), Andy Berman (Dib), Melissa Fahn (Gaz), and show writer Eric Trueheart.
