"Fird" Feature Takes Flight

Bach Morris Technologies is developing Whoever Heard of a Herd of Fird as an animated feature, the Kokomo Perspective reports.

The interactive toy and media company has budgeted $2.4 million for the 3D animated movie, which is based on a book by Othello Bach about a creature that is part fish and part bird.

The film will be produced locally in Indiana, which has offered more than $100,000 in tax credits to back the project.

No casting decisions have been made. Producers hope to have the film ready for release by the second quarter of 2012.
