Boomerang is giving Muttley, the sniggering Hanna-Barbera dog star, the "Boomeroyalty" treatment in August with special programming blocks during the month, the network said today.
The retro-cartoon channel will showcase Muttley cartoons from Wacky Races and Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines each Saturday and Sunday during the month from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Network-highlighted episodes include:
* Saturday, August 7, 2:00pm: Wacky Races "By Rollercoaster to Upsan Downs" Dick Dastardly leads the racers into an abandoned amusement park on their way to Upsan Downs.
* Saturday, August 21, 2:00pm: Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines "Have Plane, Will Travel": The Vulture Squadron is transferred to a place where there's positively no pigeon—except Yankee Doodle Pigeon.
* Sunday, August 22, 2:00pm: Wacky Races "The Ski Resort Road Race": After causing an avalanche, Dastardly uses a ski jump for his own getaway, but the other cars follow him.
* Sunday, August 22, 3:35pm: Wacky Races "Hot Race at the Chillicothe": Heading to Chillicothe, OH, Dick Dastardly steals a police car, and the Anthill Mob disguise themselves as a little league baseball team and play baseball against Dick Dastardly and Muttley.
