DreamWorks Profits Flat in Latest Quarter

DreamWorks Animation earned $24.0 million on revenues of $158.1 million in the second quarter of 2010, the company announced today. That compared to net income of $25.6 million on revenues of $132.0 million in same period last year.

The company credited its results to Shrek Forever After and How to Train Your Dragon, and CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg predicted that for the year the studio would post its best box-office results ever. The company will release a third animated feature, Megamind, later this year.

DreamWorks also said that its board of directors has approved a new $150 million share repurchase program.
