Anime Expo 2010: Geneon Universal Previews New Anime Titles

Japanese anime producer and distribution company, Geneon Universal Entertainment, previewed new anime shows at its industry panel Friday at the Anime Expo.

Among the new titles Geneon previewed were Hakuouki: Shinsengumi Kitan, Black Lagoon 3: Roberta's Trail of Blood, and High School of The Dead. Hakuoki, animated by Studio DEEN, is a Japanese samurai story featuring the samurai group known as the Shinsengumi, is based on a popular otome videogame. A co-production with Studio Madhouse, Black Lagoon 3: Roberta's Trail of Blood, is a new OVA series that follows the previous Black Lagoon series. High School of the Dead (another Madhouse co-production), a new horror anime based on a manga title created by Daisuke and Shuji Sato, is a show that combines "sexy ladies" and zombies.

Geneon also announced that Funimation will handle the US distribution of the following titles from Japan: Hellsing Ultimate OVA V - VII, Black Lagoon 3: Roberta's Trail of Blood, and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun.
