Homer Simpson Named Greatest TV/Film Character of Last 20 Years

Homer Simpson is the greatest character created for television or film in the past twenty years, according to a survey taken by Entertainment Weekly.

The cartoon icon placed ahead of Harry Potter and Buffy the Vampire Slayer to take the top slot. SpongeBob SquarePants also placed in the top ten, along with Hannibal Lecter, Tony Soprano, Edward Scissorhands, and Heath Ledger's interpretation of the Joker for The Dark Knight.
