Next DC Direct-to-Video: "Batman: Under the Red Hood"

The Los Angeles Times' Hero Complex weblog has revealed that the next DC direct-to-video animated movie will be Batman: Under the Red Hood. The movie will adapt the recent storyline from the 2005 Batman comics written by Judd Winick, who is also apparently writing the screenplay to the movie. Brandon Vietti is named as the director, with Bruce Greenwood (Star Trek) as Batman, Jensen Ackles (Supernatural) as the Red Hood, Neil Patrick Harris as Nightwing, John DiMaggio as the Joker, and Jason Isaacs (the Harry Potter franchise) as Ra's al-Ghul.

In the story, Batman is pitted against the Red Hood, a mysterious new vigilante cleaning up Gotham City by killing all the criminals he can find. A featurette on the upcoming Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths DTV movie will provide the first look at this new movie.
