Irish Animation Firms Smiling Over 2010 Oscar Noms; "Kells" US Release Mar 19, 2010

The Irish Examiner notes the recognition given to two of the nation's animation firms in this year's Academy Award nominations: Cartoon Saloon's The Secret of Kells, nominated for Best Animated Feature; and Brown Bag Films' "Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty," nominated for Best Animated Short Film. The Secret of Kells producer and Cartoon Saloon partner Paul Young expressed pleasant surprise at the film's nomination, adding that he believed the movie picked up a grassroots following after a pre-Christmas screening last year.

Elsewhere, Movieweb notes the American nationwide release of The Secret of Kells on March 19, 2010.
