Bret Iwan is the New Voice of Mickey Mouse - Updated

Disney fan site LaughingPlace.com is reporting that former Hallmark Illustrator Bret Iwan has been named as the new voice of Mickey Mouse, replacing the late Wayne Allwine. Iwan's first job as the voice of Mickey was for a learning toy and a series of prompts for the Disney Cruise Line, according to a post at the Chapman Recording & Mastering web site. LaughingPlace.com also stated that Iwan provided a voice in the latest Disney on Ice show "Celebrations."

Update: 11.19.2009 -- Voice Actors in the News has updated details on recent developments with this story, including confirmation by a source close to Bret Iwan that he is indeed the new voice for Mickey Mouse. Chapman Recording has also reinstated mention of Bret's recording at their studio, and Bret's own personal blog has details on his recent involvement with Disney.
