(Los Angeles, CA) -- Six-time Emmy winner, Phil Roman and his Studio
City,California-based Phil Roman Entertainment company recently signed
aco-production agreement with Atomic Cartoons of Vancouver, BritishColumbiato
develop and produce the original property "Atomic Betty," a newhalf-houranimated
TV series about a little girl with a big secret.
"We are extremely excited to be working with Phil Roman on 'Atomic
Betty.'Phil is an animation guru and his experience will surely
make an alreadygreat property even better," said an exuberant Samantha
Daley, AtomicCartoons Producer. "The show follows the imaginary
adventures of AtomicBetty, the outer-space alter-ego of a young
stay-at-home girl named Betty.Even though Atomic Betty is based
on a girl, we feel the show will reachboth genders because it follows
one little girl's way of dealing with theunfamiliar and sometimes
difficult world of childhood."

Roman formed his new animation company in 1999, after departing
FilmRoman,a company he founded fourteen years earlier. He began
his career in 1955 at the Walt Disney Studios. Afterwards, he worked
for Warner Bros. Cartoons,and this was followed by stints with a
string of other major animationcompanies including MGM Animation,
UPA Film, Bill Melendez' productioncompany, and Ralph Bakshi's company.
He has served as Executive Producerof"The Simpsons," "King of the
Hill," and the "Garfield" series andspecials,and has directed numerous
"Charlie Brown" features and TV specials. Romanalso produced and
directed the full-length animation feature, "Tom andJerry: The Movie,"
for Miramax and Turner. Phil Roman Entertainment hasdelivered a
Warner Home Video Christmas video, "Grandma Got Run Over by aReindeer,"
and "Christmas in Gaudinia." Three classic RKO films, "Sinbadthe
Sailor," "Blackbeard the Pirate," and "The Fourth Musketeer," as
wellasthree other films to be selected from RKO's vast library,
will be jointlydeveloped and produced by Phil Roman Entertainment
and RKO as featurelengthanimated films.
The fully Canadian owned Atomic Cartoons was founded by Directors
TrevorBentley, Mauro Casalese, Olaf Miller and Emmy winner Rob Davies
in 1999andhas since seen much success. The four have directed a
multitude ofanimationprojects and provided pre-production on over
100 half hours of televisionanimation including Warner Brothers'
"The Zeta Project," Film Roman's "TheOblongs" and Nelvana's "Pelswick."
Atomic has also produced numerousinternet projects for the likes
