An inside source has confirmed with
World's Finest that
Kevin
Conroy will reprise his role as the voice of Batman on Justice
League, slated to debut this Fall on Cartoon Network's action
block Toonami.

Tim
Daly (voice of Superman/Clark Kent (and Bizarro) on Superman:
The Animated Series) is otherwise occupied with The Fugitive
TV series on CBS and will not be involved in Justice League.
An "unnamed actor" will be providing the voice of Superman.
As of last Thursday, the cast had just
finished recording the second episode.
"The show will probably, since
it's too early to tell, consist of big story arcs, lasting 2 - 3
episodes," the inside source reports. "There will be huge,
intense, action, as well as in-depth characterization. Stan Berkowitz
and Rich Fogel have written episodes so far, but since production
has just begun, it's too early to tell who else will be [involved]."
"One current story that is being
written for JLA revolves around Green Lantern John Stewart, which
is based on an old Hal Jordan story about him being accused of a
crime he didn't commit, which leads to chaos. This whole series
will be action oriented, but will have a lot of characterization
because of the story arc length. Majority of the episodes will likely
be multi-part episodes. There will be various celebrity voices,
including James Remar for one."
[The press release states that Justice
League's team roster will include Batman, Superman, Green Lantern,
Wonder Woman, Flash, Martian Manhunter and Hawkgirl.]
World's Finest was also told, "The
Writer's
Strike won't effect the show, but there's a chance the Actors
Strike will."
According to the Comics
Continuum, neither Paul Dini nor Alan Burnett (both producers
and writers on Batman/Superman/Batman Beyond) will be involved in
Justice League. "It's not my show," Dini told The
Continuum last month. Alan Burnett serves as supervising producer
on Static Shock and The Zeta Project, and was also
involved in the production of Batman Beyond. Burnett and
Boaz Yakin are collaborating with Dini on a script for a live-action
Batman Beyond movie.

Rich Fogel confirmed with The Continuum
that he is one of the Justice League writers. "I just
finished writing the pilot, and we think this is going to be an
amazing, eye-popping show, filled with big action, epic adventure
and gripping suspense," Fogel told The Continuum. "In
developing the pilot, I've worked closely with Bruce Timm, Glen
Murakami and James Tucker, who have developed a slick new look for
the Justice League."
"This isn't Super Friends,"
Fogel said. "Nothing quite like it has ever been attempted,
and I don't think the fans will be disappointed."
The Continuum further reports that
"Bret Blevins, a Superman comics artist in the 1990s, will
also be working on the show as an artist. Blevins recently worked
on Batman Beyond. Representatives of Warner Bros. Animation could
not comment if the show would be set in the continuity of the Batman
and Superman series."
A representative from Cartoon Network
stated, "There will be a much more extensive release later
at a Cartoon Network press conference. That will include voices,
artwork, etc." The date and location of the press conference
have not yet been decided.
