New
Dexter's Lab Episodes Coming in November! Gookie
Thu Jan 25 4:24 2001
According
to the January 26 print issue of Entertainment
Weekly, we can expect the first of 13 brand-new episodes of Dexter'sLaboratory
to premiere on November 9th, 2001.
This news came unexpected to many animation fans, who assumed that
Dexter's Lab was cancelled, and that the made-for-cable-TV movie "Ego
Trip" was to be the final chapter of Dexter's animated history.
The first news that new "Dexter's Lab" episodes were headed for production
was leaked during last year's San Diego Comic Con. Official confirmation
arrived in a teeny bit of information tucked away inside LA
Weekly's HUGE feature article on "The Powerpuff Girls" and an
interview with their creator, Craig McCracken. (The article was published
in November 2000.) Near the end of the article, it's mentioned (in
parentheses) that 13 new episodes of the series went into production
in November 2000. "Dexter's Lab" creator Genndy Tartakovsky is also
working on an original animated series entitled "Samurai Jack" which
is reported to premiere on Cartoon Network this summer.
